I have always been a lover of clothing however purchasing the best designers or heck even the mid range fashion has often been out of my reach. I am a a military spouse and stay at home mommy of 4 young boys so needless to say prada and fendi are much loved but unattainable. That was until I learned how to shop properly!
Maybe it was the stigma or maybe the embarrassment but I refused to shop thrift stores I would not be caught dead in one really and was willing to go broke in order to keep up with what others had.But things change people grow up and realize it is just not feasible. I may have had this realization but it did not change my taste. So I swallowed my pride and a whole new world has opened up for me. I started slow glancing down the aisles of the clothing but only shopping for toys in our local thrift shop. My first shopping trip scored my boys 3 boys (at the time) transformers, an optimus prime mask with voice and a fisher price singing chair. When I went to the register I had a grand total of seven bucks. I was soooo shocked. Researching my purchase online I realized I had over 90 dollars of toys for over a 90% savings. That is where the love affair began.
We found out we were expecting and knowing this would be the last addition to our family I saw no need in spending a fortune on my big belly clothes. I reluctantly went on ebay and bought a few good pieces but shipping was crazy. So I drug my newly preggo self into the thrift store Louie bag and all and went to the gasp.... clothing section. The first thing I spot is a motherhood skirt with tags still attached.Ok so that was good I had just went to the store and retail was over 20 dollars still not bad but a bit to much for me. I pick up the thrift tag and see a 4.98 scrawled in black crayon awesome right? It gets better under the original price I see red crayon 98 cent!!! Shut the front door! I was now energized an began digging through the rest of the clothing on the rack. Final purchase 3 pairs motherhood capris nwt 1 skirt 4 tops Motherhood ,Pea in a pod.Olian, Japanese weekend all for 15 dollars. Now that baby is here I have even more of a budget but trust me I have an even better wardrobe than I ever have and so do my boys.
If this sounds like your kind of deals and you would like to get some tips on how to score them stay tuned as I will give you a rundown of my finds and even post pics!
